A Photographic Journal
"In photography there are no shadows that cannot be illuminated." ~ August Sander
Welcome to my photographic journal!
I never imagined I would be a photography enthusiast. I didn't think I had the knack for it. In my family, my husband was the pro; my daughter is fairly skilled; and, I was pathetic.
In 2009 I suffered a devastating blow that altered the course of my life. Death came knocking at our door and took away my beloved husband of 20 years. His untimely demise was my one-way ticket to hellsville.
Time stood still.
I did what I knew best to cope with the shock of my tragic loss. I picked up new hobbies of scrapbooking and greeting cards making. Eventually, they led me to the fantastic world of photography. One might say that the sudden passing of my husband was the impetus for getting me into photography, but that's oversimplifying it.
As it turns out, photography was the best panacea to my broken heart. It opened up a whole new world of self-expression. Colour, light, and shadow held new meaning for me. I am alive! There is beauty around me... even in darkness.
So, here I am crawling out of the abyss armed with my cameras. I invite you into my world through my lens.
This is my journey... I don't know where this will lead me, but you are most welcome to come along for the ride.
Enjoy!
