Introducing...
On my Thanksgiving page in the 2013 album, I mentioned my minikin. Well, here he is!
Ever since I started this website, I've resisted posting any of his photos. I have tons, and I can easily fill up pages and pages of them. I did not because I was frightened of the notion of sharing too much, too soon. But since this site is all about me and my world, I thought why not. After all, my story will not be complete without telling you about him. So, here it goes:
We adopted him after the passing of my husband. My daughter chose him out of the plethora of cats housed in the rescue centre. He was a skinny, black, tripod kitty that nobody seemed to want. But one look at him and my daughter was in love. In him she saw the cutest and most loving feline. He stole her heart right there and then, and he never gave it back! For those of you who understand, you very well know that he chose her, too.
I see why they were drawn to each other - they both suffered... But having this little one in our lives was a blessing. He was a tremendous help in our healing process. My daughter and I bonded over caring for this precious baby.
He is God's gift to us - to me, especially! I love him with all my heart. With a good book and he by my side, my day is set. I am content on being at home. Believe it or not, I don't feel lonely.
Anyway, when I got started in photography, which was later on after his adoption, you can imagine who was my first but very unwilling model. Oh, he was not happy. He hated the flash, and how! Luckily, not all photo shoots required one. Here is the product of one them.
Hello, world, meet my minikin!
